Breadstock returned to Burton Bradstock in Dorset once again this October and raised an amazing £142 for Positive Steps.

It was a wonderful, and very well supported, village event with prizes for the best: White Loaf – any shape, any design; Brown Loaf – wholemeal or granary; Special Creation Loaf  – the tastiest special loaf with imaginative combination of ingredients and flavours; Three Chocolate Brownies – all 3 from the same recipe & same batch; Tastiest Ethnic Bread – naan, chapati, flatbreads etc.; and, Two Savoury Scones – with exciting or unusual ingredient(s).  With over 50 entries in all, each of the categories had entries that were wonderful examples of home baking, and there was also a prize for the best-decorated cup cake or cookie by a child on the day … this also proved to be the messiest table!

Once the judging was completed and the prizes awarded all of the produce was auctioned off with all of the proceeds going to Positive Steps this year. A big thank you also goes to Pete Mayo, of Maydown Meats at Burton Bradstock, who was at the event and kindly donated a hamper of his farm produce that was also included in the auction.

Finally, a really huge thank you to Tim and Dani Farrell who organised Breadstock and picked Positive Steps as their charity for this year, but also to their generous sponsors who kindly donated prizes or agreed to donate their time by being judges on the day and making this such a fantastic event!

Thank you Breadstock!
