We have just heard from David Morton (Deputy Medical Director) that the new fridge has arrived for the Medical Ward at Nkhoma Hospital. This is really important to the staff there as, prior to its arrival, the only other refrigerator was on the Maternity Ward, some way away!
Diabetes is a big problem in Malawi and the refrigerator, seen below with the Medical Ward Nurses and Dr Francis Kachedwa the new Malawian Medical Officer, will be used to keep insulin and other medicines cool.
