Thank you to Richard Lock and the Rotary Club of Dorchester for including Positive Steps as one of their locally-based charities to raise funds for in their 2014 Christmas raffle.  Friends of Positive Steps sold the tickets on behalf of the Rotary Club and in return received a cheque for £204.74 … a great result for the people who Positive Steps support in and around Nkhoma Hospital.

This money will make a real difference and can be used to pay for blood pressure cuffs to support a Non Communicable Diseases (NCD) project in rural Malawi at centres around the hospital; with a focus on blood pressure and diabetes.  The remainder of the money will be used to fund the monthly Ambulance trip to 500 Miles, the prosthetic and orthotic centre in Lilongwe.

… simple pieces of equipment like the blood pressure cuff shown (above right) are much needed at the clinics around Nkhoma hospital to monitor, control and prevent NCDs …

It is fantastic that Positive Steps has been recognised by such an auspicious organisation in the UK … a link that we hope to strengthen in the future.

Thank you to Richard and Rotary for your support!
